Custom Fields

How Custom Fields let you capture project-specific data in SiteRise.

Purpose

This article explains how Custom Fields let you capture project-specific data beyond SiteRise's standard fields.

Who Uses This

Administrators configuring SiteRise to match their organization's specific data needs.

How It Works

Custom Fields let you add additional data points to projects, companies, or other records — tailored to your organization's workflows.

Create a new custom field by defining its name, type (text, number, dropdown, etc.), and where it should appear.

Custom fields typically appear alongside standard fields wherever they're configured, and can be included in reporting.

Best Practices

  • Only create custom fields for data you'll actually use in reporting or workflows.

  • Use consistent naming conventions for custom fields, just like projects and files.

  • Periodically review custom fields to retire ones that are no longer needed.

Troubleshooting

If a custom field isn't appearing where expected, confirm it's been applied to the correct record type.
