This article walks through how to selectively update dependent deliverable dates when rescheduling, instead of applying a full forecast to every linked item at once.

Project managers and deliverable owners adjusting schedules, especially on projects where deliverable timelines vary independently (e.g., renovation or facilities work with variable store closure windows).

1. Change a deliverable's date.
Open the Schedule tab for your project and update the start or end date on the deliverable that needs to move.

2. Click Forecast.
This opens the Manage Schedule modal, showing every dependent deliverable along with its newly calculated date based on the change you just made.

3. Review the dependent deliverables list.
Each row shows the deliverable name, its current date, and the new calculated date. Every row has a checkbox — by default, all dependent deliverables are selected.

4. Select or deselect individual deliverables.
Uncheck any deliverable you don't want to move. This is useful when a downstream task doesn't actually need to shift, even though it's technically linked.

5. Edit a forecasted date directly, if needed.
If the calculated date isn't quite right, click into the date field for that row and enter the correct date manually.

6. Use Check All / Uncheck All for faster selection.
If you want to apply the forecast to everything (or nothing), use these buttons instead of clicking each row individually.

7. Apply your changes.
Once you've made any selection or manual edit, the primary button updates from "Apply Forecast" to Apply Selected Changes — confirming you're applying a customized update rather than the full forecast. Click it to save.

Deselecting a deliverable doesn't remove its dependency — it simply holds that deliverable's date where it is today. The dependency relationship stays intact, so if you reschedule again later, the forecast will recalculate based on the current dependency chain at that time.

Project members are notified when a deliverable's date changes, regardless of whether they own that deliverable. Every schedule update — including customized ones — is logged in the History Timeline on the Project Overview tab, so you have a full record of what changed and when.
