Purpose
This article explains how to create and manage Tasks within a project.
Who Uses This
Project managers and team members responsible for day-to-day project work.
How It Works
Tasks are the individual action items that make up your project schedule. Each task can have an owner, due date, and status.
Add a new task by clicking "New Task" within the schedule, then assign an owner and set start/end dates.
Link tasks together using Dependencies so the schedule reflects the correct order of work (see Dependencies).
Best Practices
Break large deliverables into smaller, manageable tasks.
Assign a single clear owner to each task.
Update task status regularly to keep the schedule and Critical Path accurate.
Troubleshooting
If a task isn't showing up in the schedule view, confirm it's linked to the correct project and has valid start/end dates.
