Purpose
This article explains how to use the Markup tool to annotate photos and documents.
Who Uses This
General contractors, project managers, and architects communicating visual issues or notes.
How It Works
The Markup tool lets you draw, annotate, and add notes directly on top of a photo or file — useful for flagging issues or clarifying instructions.
Open a photo or document and select "Markup" to start annotating. Add shapes, text, or freehand notes as needed.
Markups can typically be attached directly to a punch list item, RFI, or comment for context (see Punch Lists).
Best Practices
Use markup to clearly point out specific locations or issues rather than relying on text descriptions alone.
Keep annotations concise and easy to read at a glance.
Attach marked-up photos directly to the relevant punch list item or RFI for full context.
Troubleshooting
If markup tools aren't appearing, try refreshing the page or checking your browser compatibility.
