Roles

How Roles define what a user can do in SiteRise.

Purpose

This article explains how Roles define what a user can do in SiteRise.

Who Uses This

Administrators setting up user access and permissions.

How It Works

A Role is a predefined set of permissions assigned to a user — such as Project Manager, Executive, Administrator, or External Partner.

Assign a Role when adding a new user, or update it later if their responsibilities change.

Best Practices

  • Use standard roles consistently across projects rather than creating one-off custom access for individuals.

  • Review roles whenever someone's responsibilities shift.

  • Pair roles with the Permissions article to fully understand what each role can see and do.

Troubleshooting

If a user's access doesn't match expectations, double-check their assigned Role and any project-specific permission overrides.
